StoreStory Privacy Summary
StoreStory processes Shopify export data that users choose to upload in order to generate a structured performance report.
These pages are written for a SaaS pilot product, so the goal is clarity about how the system handles uploaded datasets rather than long-form legal language.
Data you provide
StoreStory processes data uploaded by users in the form of Shopify export CSV files.
- Orders exports are the primary required dataset.
- Product metadata may be uploaded optionally when product enrichment is needed.
- Only the data required to generate the report is processed.
Temporary processing
Uploaded files are processed only for the time required to validate the dataset and generate the report.
- Raw uploaded CSV files are automatically deleted within 24 hours.
- Generated reports may remain available temporarily through private access links.
- Private report links are time-limited rather than permanently public.
Model usage
StoreStory may use a language model to generate narrative explanations from deterministic analytics outputs.
- Raw order rows are not sent to the model layer.
- Only aggregated signals are used for narrative generation.
- All KPI calculations remain deterministic and versioned.
Telemetry
Limited telemetry data may be collected to improve the product and understand how the pilot is being used.
- Telemetry may include page views.
- Telemetry may include interaction events.
- Telemetry may include report generation events.
- Telemetry does not include uploaded CSV contents.
Data security
Uploaded files are processed in a controlled server environment and retained only for the time necessary to generate and deliver the report.
